<p>The goals of this workshop are to:</p>
<ol>
  <li>bring together developers working on practical tools for calendar
    management</li>
  <li>discuss and report on different techniques for storage and query of
    calendar data described in RDF</li>
</ol>

<p>Specifically:</p>

<ul>
<li>
to describe usecases for an RDF calendar vocabulary (for example
compatibility with iCalendar, combining other information
with calendar information, combining with RSS, reasoning, events as an idiom for
describing how things change over time)
</li><li>
to start to identify the requirements of an RDF calendaring vocabulary for
each usecase
</li><li>
to identify issues in conversion (for example timezones, repeating
events, date time formats, simplicity, round tripping from iCalendar)
</li>
</ul>

<h3>Location</h3>

<p>The location of the workshop is now the <a href="http://www.at-bristol.org.uk/Corporate/John_James.htm">John James room</a>
 at <a href="http://www.at-bristol.org.uk/">@Bristol</a>. This is located in central Bristol. Here's a

<h3>Registration</h3>

<p>Participants are asked to register before the 5th of October, using the <a
href="http://cgi.w3.org/Register/selectUser.pl?_w3c_meetingName=swad200210cal">online
registration system</a>. Numbers may be limited, and no places can be
guaranteed for people who have not registered</p>

<h2><a name="Logistics" id="Logistics">Logistics</a></h2>

<h3>Transportation</h3>

<p>Bristol has an international airport, and train and bus stations with
fast(ish) connections to London airports and other centres in England and
Wales.</p>

<h4>Taxis within Bristol</h4>

<p>Try Streamline +44 (0) 117 926 4001 or Arches +44 (0) 117 923 2526 from
Central Bristol or the station..</p>

<h4>Trains from Heathrow/Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads</h4>

<p>Trains run from Heathrow to Paddington every 15 minutes: the journey takes
15-20 minutes and costs £12-14 single.</p>

<p>Trains run about every 30 minutes from London Paddington to Bristol Temple
Meads. You can check times on the <a
href="http://212.87.65.227/bin/newquery.exe/en">Railtrack site</a>. The cost
is between £30 and £70 return depending on times (you can check prices and
book using <a href="http://www.thetrainline.com/">the Train Line</a>. The
train takes between one and three-quarters and two hours. You can buy tickets
on the train itself if you don't mind paying full fare. Please keep your
ticket because they often check them at the major stations when you get off,
as well as checking them on the trains.</p>

<p>Bristol Temple Meads station is a little way out of the city. It is easy
to get a taxi at the station and it costs £5-7 to the University or
Redland.</p>

<h4>Bus from Heathrow to Bristol</h4>

<p><a href="http://www.gobycoach.com/">GoByCoach.com</a> provides service
from Heathrow, which takes 2-3 hours depending on traffic, departing about
every hour and a half, from all terminals, and costs £30. You arrive at
Marlborough Street Bus Station which is very central - about £4 to the
University area or Redland, £10-15 to Hewlett-Packard. There are taxis at the
back of the station.</p>

<h4>Airport (Bristol Lulsgate)</h4>

<p>The airport is a £15-20 taxi ride from central Bristol, though you can get
a <a
href="http://www.bristolairport.com/getthere/getthere.asp?g=coach">Bristol
Flyer Bus</a> for £6 return. If you get a taxi from the airport, there's a
monopoly there - you have to order a taxi from the desk in departures.</p>

<h3>Accommodation</h3>

<p>The following hotels are available (there may be others too), including
several in central Bristol (near the <a

<p>You could also try <a href="http://www.visitbristol.co.uk/">the Visit

search</a>). Look for something in Cotham, Redland or Clifton if you want to
be central</p>
